The 29th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) will open on November 16 with a screening of the documentary Stranger in Paradise by Dutch director Guido Hendrikx.
The film explores the relationship between Europe and the refugees in a film that blends the line between the documentary film and the drama.
Guido Hendrikx graduated in 2014 from the Netherlands Film Academy, where he directed the internationally acclaimed short films Escort and Onder Ons / Among Us.
The screening of Stranger in Paradise will mark a first for the festival: it will in fact be the first time that IDFA will be opening at the Royal Theater Carré. Stranger in Paradise will be included in the program of both the Competition for First Appearance and the Competition for Dutch Documentary.
IDFA will run in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from November 16 to 27. For more information, go to https://www.idfa.nl/nl.aspx
