For those who watched and enjoyed Arrival, and would like to see more films like it, here is a list of another 10 films that we strongly recommend (NOTE: The list is not in order of preference):
4 – DONNIE DARKO by Richard Kelly (2001)
The titular troubled teenager in this film is haunted by the presence of a monstrous figure in a rabbit costume who tells him the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds. Premonitions, concepts of time and strange, perhaps extra-terrestrial creatures, are prominent narrative points of Richard Kelly’s cult genre-bending film. Donnie Darko is definitely quirkier than Arrival, but it’s still a classic of its kind. Strange to think the film’s initial reception was lukewarm, as it is now critically acclaimed.
