May 2017: 10 new movie releases you need to know about

So many films, so little time. CineCola highlights a number of UK (and, possibly, Ireland) theatrical releases for the month of May.

4 – FRANTZ (François Ozon, France / Germany)
Release date: May 12 (limited, 25+)

The latest work by one of contemporary world cinema’s most prolific auteurs, François Ozon, reimagines the story behind master filmmaker Ernst Lubitsch’s undersung 1932 drama Broken Lullaby. Frantz, shot with stunning black-and-white photography, is a romantic drama that follows a young German mourning the death of her fiancé in the aftermath of World War I.
