Cannes 2017: 10 highlights of this year’s program

The 70th Festival de Cannes will take place in Cannes, France, on May 17-28. This year’s landmark edition features many-a-great films in its official selection. CineCola took a look at what’s on offer and settled on 10 films that are slightly more mouth-watering than others. (NOTE: This list does not include films of the independent sections of Cannes, such as Critics’ Week and Directors’ Fortnight.)

1 – THE BEGUILED (Sofia Coppola, USA)

Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation) returns to Cannes with a bloodied revenge flick set in the Deep South at the height of the American Civil War. As if the interest generated by a new SC film was not enough, the cast of The Beguiled looks very promising indeed, featuring the likes of Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Colin Farrell.
