Transilvania International Film Festival 2017: Alain Delon to receive lifetime achievement award

Iconic French actor Alain Delon will be a special guest at the 2017 Transilvania International Film Festival (Cluj-Napoca, Romania, June 2-11), where he will he honored with a lifetime achievement award at the festival closing gala on June 10.

Delon, who celebrates this year since his cinema debut, will also be hosting a special screening of his directorial effort For a Cop’s Hide (1981), in which he also plays the starring role, at the Unrii Square.

The 81-year-old actor is considered one of the greatest leading men of European cinema of the 20th century. His career spans over 100 memorable roles in such great productions as Rocco and His Brothers (Luchino Visconti, 1960), L’Eclisse (Michelangelo Antonioni, 1962), and Our Story (Bertrand Blier, 1984). Throughout his career, he worked with many other great directors, including Jean-Luc Godard., Louis Malle and Jean-Pierre Melville. The latter will be the subject of a TIFF retrospective. The selection of Melville works that will be screened in Cluj will also include The Red Circle (1970), starring Delon.
